Workout Recap: 10x800m

Much, much better.

Workout:
1 mile easy
10x800m @ 3:30 with 1min passive recovery
1 mile easy

The first five were pretty smooth. My calves are still fried from the half-marathon/400s last week, but the rest of my body felt okay. Intervals 6-8 were the toughest;I felt pretty good once I hit the home stretch and had only two to go. I split 3:30 for each interval and even managed to dip slightly under for the last two.

Importantly, the pace itself felt easy. The 10x400m workout last week at 6min/mile pace felt considerably harder. I felt as though I could sustain five straight miles (rather than 800m spurts) at today’s 7min/mile pace. Encouraging stuff.

Next tough workout: Treadhill sprints on Thursday. Ooof.
